Bank Rakyat targets RM50 million micro financing this year

BANK Rakyat targets micro financing amounting to RM50 million for entrepreneurs and micro corporate companies throughout this year.

Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, Datuk R Ramanan said that Bank Rakyat's continuous support for the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) sector is in line with the government's aspiration to internationalize MSMEs.

According to him, this step is the main agenda for the country's economic transformation through the Madani Economy initiative, which is based on social factors, values, and societal norms emphasized in the concept of Madani Malaysia.

“This year's target is equal to the amount last year. Bank Rakyat has disbursed micro financing totaling more than RM50 million to 1,856 entrepreneurs and micro corporate companies,” he said during a press conference at the Bank Rakyat Twin Towers here on Thursday.
