Bank Rakyat is continuously supporting the government’s effort in developing the cooperative sector as the third largest contributor to the country’s economic growth. While providing opportunities to selected cooperatives to be appointed as Bank Rakyat Service Agent, the Bank can also expand its product and services in its unpenetrated market segment. Apart from not having to acquire any capital expenditure, commission income given by Bank Rakyat to the cooperative appointed as its Service Agent can assist them in adding revenue to their businesses. The appointed cooperative is given commission for each of the financing application received and approved by the Bank. ATM facility installed at their premise enables the Service Agent to obtain rental income from the Bank. For 2008, the Bank approved 593 financing applications amounting RM25.03 million compared to 81 applications totalling RM2.27 million in the previous year. To date, fifteen cooperatives appointed as Service Agents have commenced operations. Bank Rakyat Service Agent List |
