RAKAN KOOP

The Rakan Koop programme initiated by the Bank comprises services and assistance to help small and medium scale cooperatives enhance their competitiveness by upgrading their management competency and diversifying business activities. Assistance provided inter alia are consultancy, advisory and expertise in the implementation of Syariah-based Financing System, mobilisation of various programmes conducted by the cooperatives, financing for business expansion and other support services in collaboration with several government agencies such as SIRIM, MARDI, Kraftangan and MARA.

Among the benefits offered by this programme are:

1. Free advisory and consultancy assistance;
2. Financing assistance;
3. Share of experience and knowledge mainly on the implementation of Syariah-based Business System;
4. Practical training at the Bank’s branches (if activities of the cooperatives and the Bank are identical);
5. Competency enhancement among cooperatives;
6. Synergising businesses through business matching programme; and
7. The establishment of a two-way relationship with Bank Rakyat.
